Good Food & Wine Show 2011 – CAPE TOWN 26 – 29 May

May 27, 2011

My wonderful friend Helen slipped me two comps for the show today – so I popped in to check it out for you.

Its busy people. Very . Very . Busy. Be warned.

  • You will find EVERYTHING you can possibly think of!
  • From juicy olives and pleasant pate’s… demonstrations of supa delux kitchen equipment…. the gorgeous EVITA BEZUIDENHOUT… BRONX footwear (?!)… wine, spirits, gourmet restaurant stands… AH – the list is endless actually.

HOW CUTE ARE THOSE APRONS?!

the GORGEOUS Evita Bezuidenhout!
I winked at her and she posed for me. WHAT a FABULOUS Possum!

the Bromwell had this really devine stand - It has definitely ENTICED me to want to pop in there at some stage soon.

The kiddies section was PRETTY large and busy – and well organised. They had workshops for “fun cooking” with the little ones.
I steared WELL clear…

...aaaand a big thank you to Saul's for SAVING all those poor buggers that will INEVITABLY be dragged along to the food festival this weekend... NOTE the sport channels 😉

I found it exhausting.

I’d recommend to…

  • EITHER prepare yourself for the crowds, get yourself a map of the floor, and get to where you want to go.
  • OTHERWISE – just be at peace with the throng, and brows through as best you can. (you’ll undoubtedly be kept occupied for hours)

Now I’m more of a foodie shopaholic – so I head directly for the exciting looking food stands, but if you are enticed by the actual celebrity chefs and food shows – see the EVENT SCHEDULE here.

Cape Town International Convention Centre. For a map click here.

Tickets are R85 for adults, R40 for children, and can be purchased at Computicket OR at the door. Book here.
